Master installer includes following compenents:
  • STW Launchpad (The new STW Launchpad allows you to:
Conveniently launch Service Software applications and manage some common SIS / CBT preferences).
  • Caterpillar Electronic Technician (Cat ET) (CAT ET - The software accesses information from the electronic control modules on Caterpillar engines and equipment. Using Cat ET, technicians can view status parameters, logged codes, active codes, perform functional tests, and record and view data logs of equipment operation).
  • SIS DVD
  • STW Service Report (The STW Service Report is a tool to help you collect, report, and organize your service jobs.
    - Allows for complete documentation of your repair.
    - Reduce duplicate typing of Service Reports
    - Easy to read
    - Spell check
Easy integration with Dealer Business System (both DBS and DBSi):
Download header information from DBS, upload service information to DBS after your job is completed; Collect information from other service tools, including:
    - Parts lists from SIS
    - ECM summaries and reports from Cat ET
    - Inspection lists from Technical Analysis (TA).
  • Technical Analysis TA Program is a proactive evaluation of the health and condition of all engine and machine systems. The TA is made of four sub-components, TA1 inspections, TA2 inspections, Daily Inspections and Preventative Maintenance (PM) Inspections.
TA1: TA1s contain visual check/walk-around inspections typically performed by PSSRs or Service Technician. Inspections typically occur every 500+ SMU’s
TA2: TA2s contain detailed machine/engine inspections typically performed by dedicated Inspectors or Service Technician. Inspections typically occur annually or mid-life (2,000-6,000 SMU’s)
Daily Inspection: Daily Inspection program is used for ad-hoc daily inspections and information capture from records maintained by the customer from inspection logs typically maintained by the operator and refuel/lube personnel
Planned Maintenance: Periodic inspection procedures regularly performed in order to keep machines in good working order).
  • Component Based Troubleshooting (CBT helps the technician troubleshoot symptoms and codes for Caterpillar engines and machines. After identifying a symptom, the technician is presented with a list of components that, if not operating properly, may cause the symptom. By using the information provided for each component, the technician can identify the root cause of the symptom and fix the problem. The technician is also presented with a list of available ECMs and codes for the selected model to troubleshoot diagnostic codes. In addition, CBT gives the technician links to related information for symptoms and codes in the Service Information System (SIS)).
  • DBS Upload Utility (it automates the uploading of SIMS data, the SMU value and the Repair Background Notes from an STW Service Report saved in the STW Format (.xml) into the DBS system. The standalone service report utility supplied with STW can also be used to create service reports for uploading into DBS. The reports are checked for correct data format prior to uploading).
